30 Days of Gratitude–Day 12

As a personal challenge to be more aware of all of my blessings in life, I am writing a post about one of those blessings every day for the 30 days prior to Thanksgiving. Some will be serious. Some will be silly. But they will all mean something to me personally. I invite you to join in, in the comments, in your own writing space, or simply in your head. So often we take for granted how much we have to be thankful for. It’s good to stop, reflect, and remember.

Today I am thankful for warm weather. It’s been really cold here lately. At least in my opinion; I’m not truly happy unless I see temps over 75. I know some places get it much worse than Oklahoma does. And I know some people like the cold weather. I don’t understand them, but they have the right to their opinion.

It’s supposed to be warmer today, in the 60s, so that’s quite an improvement. I’ll probably spend a bit of time this afternoon on the back porch, while Joan Didion runs around and burns off some energy. Maybe we’ll grill something for lunch. I’ll definitely open the windows and let the fresh air in the house.

Steve and I love spending time on our porch, just chillin, enjoying the fresh air. We used to sit out there a lot more, but have been overrun with mosquitoes the past couple of years, even with bug spray and candles. We also love having the windows open to let the breeze and air in.

I work from home when I’m not teaching yoga and the early darkness and being cooped up really gets to me. As a result, I appreciate any opportunity to get a little fresh air.

What are you thankful for today?
